In honour of International Book Day on April 23, the Finca Cántaros Environmental Association (FCEA) team visited schools to talk about the book Lucy Loves Nature through a puppet show created by the talented FCEA staff, as well as a Q&A with the author (Lilly Briggs) and the illustrator (Vicky Ramos). We also presented the book at the AmistOsa biological corridor committee’s monthly meeting, inviting additional local students to come enjoy the puppet show, a bird walk, and a reading of sections of the book pertaining to the species
we saw and heard on the walk.

It was particularly special to have illustrator Vicky Ramos with us to share her experiences working on children’s books over several decades. We also would like to thank Greg Homer and Ellen Beckett of the San Vito Bird Club for inspiring us to create puppet shows to
support our environmental education outreach!
