Our hands-on workshop on traditional small-scale farming 👩‍🌾, held with our collaborator Randy López from Finca Orgánica Tinamastes, was a great success! ✨

We started with a question-and-answer session, followed by a “mini-tour” of a property belonging to the Finca Cántaros Environmental Association called “Cruz del Sur.” Here, we have a sustainable silvopastoral system 🐮, a dry composting toilet 🚽, and an organic vegetable garden 🥬. We discussed how to manage these types of projects effectively, making the most of a model farm to inspire more people to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

Afterwards, we returned to the main classroom at Finca Cántaros to learn how to cultivate beneficial mountain microorganisms 🦠🌳, which can be used to prepare organic fertilisers and maintain a dry composting toilet 🚽 properly.
