Did you know that Finca Cántaros Environmental Association Founder & Director, Lilly Briggs, has written a children’s book called “Lucy Loves Nature: The Search for the Mysterious Potoo”? The beautiful illustrations are by the well-known and talented Costa Rican illustrator, Vicky Ramos.

Lucy Loves Nature aims to inspire interest and build knowledge about the natural world (especially birds) among kids through the eyes of a little girl and her encounters with plants and animals, as she explores the forest with her trusty sidekick “Yiggy,” a Clay-coloured Thrush, in search of a bird called a Common Potoo.

Lucy is a nine-year-old girl who lives in Costa Rica. She loves nature, and is always exploring and learning about the incredible world of plants and animals around her. Yiggy is a Clay-coloured Thrush, which is the national bird of Costa Rica (where there are known as Yigüirros).
