Finca Cántaros Environmental Association was proud to have an international presence in February, connecting with collaborators at two fantastic events: the International Conservation Technology Conference in Lima, Perú 🇵🇪 and Colombia BirdFair in Cali 🇨🇴.

Director Lilly Briggs (far left) was honoured to be invited to Lima, Perú by the Birds Canada team on behalf of the Conserva Aves initiative to help co-facilitate a workshop as part of the International Conservation Technology Conference (ICTC) pre-conference activities at UTEC, Lima’s technical university.

Conserva Aves is an initiative led by American Bird Conservancy, Audubon Americas, BirdLife International, Birds Canada, and RedLAC, with support from the Government of Canada that recognizes that birds connect us across landscapes and inspire us to collaboratively protect and restore their critical habitats, alongside local communities.

Along with Maya Doyon-Hanson (Project Management Specialist, International Cooperation and Conservation, second from the left) of Birds Canada and Julian García of Pronatura Noroeste in Mexico (second from the right), their workshop entitled “From data to action: leveraging Motus for inclusive bird conservation” built capacity among an international audience around both the technical tools and strategies for social inclusion related to the Motus Wildlife Tracking System of Birds Canada. Evelyne Morin (Director, International Cooperation and Conservation, far right) and her management of countless logistics was key to the workshop implementation, and Felipe Castañeda (Impact & Storytelling Manager, International Cooperation and Conservation, middle) was documenting the event as part of his storytelling role.
